Friday reading recommendations.

So, at this point, my refreshing and relaxing time with family and friends in tropical destinations is starting to wind down.  Lovely Internet provides the ability for me to write wistfully in advance about the end of a vacation that hasn’t even yet happened.  So much progress.

As a salve to my soul for this week’s prior two exercises in self-promotion, let me point you toward a few things having nothing to do with me that are worth a read.

First, the always insightful Karen Rubin has thoughts at The Law for Lawyers Today from last week on the importance of documenting in engagement letters both who you do, and who you do not, represent.

Second, a nice post on developments regarding lawyer advertising (and specifically when a blog will purport to be treated as lawyer advertising) in California from David Cameron Carr at his blog.

Third, a good post from Legal Ethics Forum that talks about one of only three or so movies that won Academy Awards this year that struck me as ones I was interested in seeing, Spotlight.

Fourth, another post on the lawyer advertising front from the law students that drive the Legal Ethics in Motion blog.
